Join us for a series of special events to celebrate and support our Indigenous students. Learn about life as a student, connect with the student community, and learn about all our unique opportunities and services.

Traditional Medicine Walk
(J-South Parking Departure)

With Denyse Johnson. Learn about the plants that grow in our area and the medicinal uses for them. Free transportation will be provided on the Sault College SONE Bus. Departure at 10:00am from the J-South parking lot. Drop off in Batchewana. Departure from Batchewana at 3:00pm to go back to the college. Pack a lunch, water, bug spray, sunscreen and wear comfortable shoes. Everyone is welcome.

Learn how you can be a voice and make a difference for the Indigenous students at Sault College. Many volunteer positions are available. Light snacks will be provided. Must be First Nation, Metis, Inuit students.

Fire & Bannock on a Stick
(SCSU Firepit)

Indigenous Studies and ISU will be teaching you how to make bannock over the fire. Bring a camp chair and join us around the firepit. Everyone is welcome.

Welcome Ceremony for First Nation,
Metis and Inuit Students (registration required)

Biindigen. Your Indigenous Studies Team welcomes you to Enji Maawnjiding (G1200), a space built for our FNMI students at Sault College. This is a great opportunity to meet the Indigenous Studies Team as well as other new Indigenous students and learn about our unique supports and services for Indigenous Learners. There will be food, drumming, a pipe ceremony and giveaways!  Registration required.
