(Sault Ste. Marie, ON June 3, 2022) – Today, at Sault College’s final spring convocation ceremony, Sault College proudly presented an honourary diploma in Sports Administration to Sault College alumnus and local front-line worker Ryan Vendramin. Surrounded by the Sault College community, some of our newest graduates and supporters, Ryan stood on the convocation stage once more to accept this honour.
Ryan graduated with Honours from Sault College’s Police Foundations program in the Spring of 2019, and graduated with honours from Sault College’s Protection, Security and Investigation program in the Spring of 2020. During his time at the College he was the Sault College men’s hockey team Captain, National Champion and two-time American Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Year.
“It is with great pride that we are able to recognize Ryan’s outstanding contributions not only to Sault College, but also to our community as a whole,” said Dr. Ron Common, President Sault College. “Ryan has been a leader as a student, student-athlete and now in his chosen profession. We are honoured to have him as part of the Sault College family and we wish him all the best in the future,” added Dr. Common.
“Attending Sault College was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I learned from so many great teachers and I met a lot of great people that I will be friends with for life. I felt extremely well-prepared to enter the workforce as a police officer after graduating from the Police Foundations and Protection, Security and Investigations programs. It is an honour to be recognized today by Sault College,” said Ryan Vendramin.
