Meet Bebeth, a 2023 graduate of our Automated Manufacturing program. She chose this program because the courses perfectly aligned with her previous studies and experiences in the Philippines. She was ready to improve and enhance her knowledge and abilities and was thrilled to be taking this program in robotics. This program improved Bebeth's confidence and skill set through everything she was taught. She loved that her abilities were enhanced through the program thanks to practical tests and real-world experience.
Bebeth says that the Automated Manufacturing program is the ideal solution for those in the manufacturing industry - and this field of work is in such high demand right now. Although the program was not always easy, and she faced some obstacles along the way, she feels it helped her get to where she is now. She appreciates the excellent services and supports that were available to her at Sault College, along with computer labs to help support her work needs on campus.
Instructors Played a Big Part
Her competent instructors including those in the machine shop and robotics were a huge help to her success in the program and into her career. She will never forget the knowledge and skills they shared with her and helped her to develop.
Bebeth is amazed that she is creating fixtures and jigs for a new welding robot and working with a real robot at the start of her career for a hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder manufacturing company. Her knowledge with a CNC robot feeder and using CNC machines, as well as learning to use Fusion 360 software throughout her program has been a big help with developing ideas to make some jigs and fixtures with the CNC machine shop.
She assists all manufacturing duties in the shop, develops automation improvements and leads new projects. She is responsible for completing CNC/CAD/CAM programming, fixture development and manufacturing, robotics and automation programming, tool room development, and inventory control. Bebeth loves being able to come up with and implement creative concepts to increase the company's efficiency and productivity. She feels valuable, especially if she is able to come up with a project proposal to help solve challenges.
Bebeth strongly recommends the Automated Manufacturing program to anyone working in engineering - you won't regret it! This area is in high demand will offer so many opportunities, while earning a good salary.
