CPA Certification Pathway

Take your accounting skills to the next level with our Business - Accounting pathway, and get closer to becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). To qualify for the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP), you'll need a degree and 120-credit hours or equivalent of education.

Once you've completed your two-year Business - Accounting diploma program and achieved a solid GPA (3.3+), you can continue your education at Algoma University. In just two more years, you'll earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

By successfully finishing both the diploma and degree programs and meeting the minimum grade requirement, you'll have completed the 14 preparatory courses needed for admission into the CPA PEP Program. Get ready to level up your accounting career!

What Can I Do With My CPA Designation?

CPAs work in all industries and there are so many companies that are in search of CPAs. As a CPA you are recognized internationally and can work anywhere in the world. 

 CPAs hold leadership roles in their organizations and industries.  Annually, you can find the average salary at $99,000 in your first three years, $165,000 at 10-14 years, and $260,000   at 25+ years.

Salaries will be dependent on the employment you attain, with salaries ranging from lowest to highest  respectively, as Auditor, Analyst, Consultant, Director, Controller, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and President and/or CEO.

What is PSAP? 

PSAP is CPA Ontario’s Post-Secondary Ambassador Program.

Who can join PSAP?

Membership is open to all undergraduate students in Ontario colleges and universities. It provides members with exclusive access to networking, conferences, mentorship, employer events and more, through its 3 pillars: Inspire, Develop, Connect.  

Is there an application?
