Pathophysiology I

This course provides the learner with a general understanding and working knowledge of the
structure and function of various body systems experiencing both acute and chronic health
challenges. Students will examine how various disease states challenge homeostasis and how
this impacts structure and function of the various organ systems and the human body. It is
expected that the student will bring to this course a competent background in human anatomy
and physiology. Included in this course is the study of the basic principles of microbiology.
