Prerequisites:

In this course, students will be trained on how to model real world automated production lines. An industrial level robotics and automation simulation software will be used to simulate, analyze and predict the performance of shop floor production including different types of robots, automated machines and conveyors. The final aim of this course is to develop student design and development ability at a factory scale.  The course enables the student to design and visualize a complete automated production line including all manufacturing machines, robots, controllers, sensors and actuators. It also helps to predict the production cycle time and cost. This course utilizes and integrates the knowledge and skills the student had in previous courses such as robotics programming, programmable logic controllers, industrial networking, etc. This course will prepare the student to integrate, operate, and maintain real-world production lines.
