This course will provide students with an overview of legislation relevant to working with children and families. An essential component of the course will be in the areas of responsibility and roles that the three levels of government play in the development and implementation of legislation critical to the mental health and well-being of clients of Child and Youth Care Practitioners. An in-depth examination of social issues impacting families in relation to legislation will be explored. Students will learn the importance of advocating for clients in regard to legislation and social issues.
