(Sault Ste. Marie, ON February 29, 2024) – Sault College is proud to announce a significant achievement: the full approval of its nine-course Business – Human Resources curriculum by the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) for the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation. This approval positions our Business – Human Resources program as a direct pathway to the CHRP designation and underscores the quality and industry relevance of our programming.
Upon the successful completion of our Business – Human Resources program graduates, who meet the minimum grade requirements set by HRPA, will have satisfied the complete coursework criterion essential for the CHRP designation. This accomplishment not only highlights our curriculum but also opens the door for our students to obtain further industry recognition.
"The approval from HRPA is a testament to the rigor and relevance of our Business - Human Resources program,” said Martha Irwin, Dean, Business and Information Technology. “Our program ensures graduates are well-prepared with the knowledge and skills to meet the demands of the HR profession and also directly contributes to their path towards the CHRP designation.”
Aligning this Sault College curriculum with the CHRP designation is readying graduates as Human Resources professionals. These necessary tools and credentials for success are welcomed by industry leaders. “As Human Resources has matured as a profession, the CHRP designation has really become a fundamental requirement for HR practitioners,” added Esther Zdolec, SVP, People & Culture, at OLG.
In addition to this, we have identified a defined pathway for any Sault College Business diploma program graduate who is also interested in pursuing the Business – Human Resources program. Students graduating or recently graduated from the Business program can return for an additional one year of study to complete their Business – Human Resources diploma. This means students are eligible to get two diplomas in only three years.
