Online Upskilling Specialist Intern

The Opportunity: The Online Upskilling Specialist will support in the development of e-learning programming for Sault College. The NOHFC intern will have a valuable role in utilizing content development by Subject Matter Experts (SME's) and transforming them into short, robust, online modules. The content will be of an upskilling nature that will be used to create short, online modules that individuals can take in order to achieve new skills or additional knowledge. The intern in this position will need to work closely with the SME to ensure the content is accurately displayed within the online modules created. The intern will need to utilize tools such as H5P and Articulate to ensure the modules are engaging and interactive. The intern will be responsible for placing the content into our online platform for potential students to access.

What you need to be successful:

  • degree or diploma in Education, Information Technology, Instructional Design, Communications or a related field
  • experience using a learning management system (LMS) considered an asset
  • attention to detail
  • ability to edit material for grammar and spelling
  • excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment
  • strong organizational skills and time management skills

This is a Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation contract position funded for one year. In order to be eligible for the position of Online Upskilling Specialist, the candidate must have graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university.  The candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma program.  The position will be a first full-time employment in the candidate’s field of study.
