The Opportunity: 

An Employment Resource Specialist who is responsible for assisting the Director and Employment Consultants in the implementation and evaluation of employer recruiting plans and related activities targeted at building employer relationships in Blind River and the North Shore area. The incumbent will conduct outreach in a variety of mediums which would include both in person and telephone cold call visits as well as updating social media outlets. The incumbent will also assist with job seeker and employer recruitment and delivery of resource room services including workshops, information sessions and job posting services.

What you need to be successful:

  • diploma in Business, Human Resources, Human Services, Marketing or related discipline
  • minimum two years of demonstrated customer service experience in consulting, business, human resources,
  • marketing, recruiting or outreach capacity
  • knowledge of social media programs and how to use as a communication and marketing tool (including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc)
  • experience delivering presentations and information sessions both in person and virtually using Adobe Connect, Skype, etc
  • effective communication and professional writing skills to assist clients using various software
  • knowledge of community agencies/partners and employers throughout the catchment area
  • demonstrated ability to perform outreach and cold calls
  • a strong commitment to customer service and client success
  • bilingualism and experience working with Indigenous individuals would be definite assets
  • project planning and delivery
  • ability to utilize a variety of software including Microsoft Office products
  • a valid driver's license and transportation or personal mobility to the degree normally associated with possession of a valid driver's license and transportation to travel.

This is an Appendix D support staff position, 35 hours/week, Payband F - $27.38-$31.74 (starting rate $27.38), required for approximately 4 months with possible extension.
