Business careers are diverse and in-demand. It starts here.
Enrolling in Business will align you with Canada’s largest and fastest-growing certifying body of bookkeepers. Graduates can fast-track toward the nationally recognized Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation. Students will also have access to a preferred student membership rate, full of member benefits that will provide access to continuing education and networking opportunities with bookkeeping professionals across Canada.
Two Diplomas + CHRP Designation
Once you graduate from your Business program, you will be eligible to return for an additional year of studies to complete a Business - Human Resources diploma. You'll get two diplomas in three years! When you complete your third year and meet grade requirements, you will satisfy the full course requirement to start the path to your Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation. Available exclusively through the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA), your CHRP designation will validate your knowledge of HR, your workplace readiness, and your commitment to career-long learning.
Applied Learning Experiences
Receive real-world experience and valuable understanding of entrepreneurial success in the Entrepreneurship course by taking on the steps to plan, start and operate a business for 15 weeks as a class. Our latest Business graduates started the business Sweet Sooprize where they manufactured surprise bags with candy, toys and games to sell on campus. A portion of the proceeds are being donated to the student food bank.
Business students were also given a new opportunity to expand the knowledge and skills gained from coursework. Students participated in the Canada Revenue Agency’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) and used the latest tax software to prepare and E-File tax returns for students. These students gained practical experience in tax preparation and developed important skills to benefit their future careers while giving back to our Sault College community.
Ontario Colleges' Marketing Competition (OCMC)
Each year, our Business and Business - Marketing students have the opportunity to participate in the OCMC, an exciting case-based business competition built on real-world cases. The competition gives students research, time management, and presentation skills that will help to set them apart in today’s competitive workforce.
In partnership with McDonald's, we are offering education opportunities for McDonald's employees. McDonald’s employees who have completed McDonald’s Management Development Program Level 2 (MDP) will have the opportunity to complete a two-year Ontario College Business Diploma in as little as one year.
